In the most recent episode of the Republik Tech-Podcast, Nicolas Zahn and Adrienne Fichter briefly mentioned “Listening Back”, a browser add-on for Firefox.

This add-on, the brainchild of artist and composer Jasmine Guffond, sonifies internet cookies as you browse online by playing a sound whenever a cookie is written, overwritten or deleted. This add-on thereby exposes in real time the digital surveillance and consequently the ways in which this surveillance has become normalized.
